Apne Honto’n Pe Sajana Chahta Hoon ( اپنے ہونٹوں پہ سجانا چاہتا ہوں )

Standard

  1. i want to adore my lips with you
    i want to sing you

by rolling a tear in ur lap
i want to make it a pearl

i am tired of remembering you now.
i want you to remember me now

    it is getting dark everywhere.
for light, i want to burn my house

wish, my last breaths to be in your lap…
i want to die a royal death !

    [translation by @shehry157].

  2. Nice post.

and what a fabulous poet .. Qateel shifai sahib..

Qateel waqt k seenay main hum dharaktay hain

Above translation by “someone” needs some serious scrutiny 😦

    contradictions are good 🙂 ain’t they ?

    • Yes, it was a rough translation according to my friend. I’m not a native Urdu speaker so pardon my inability to scrutinize. But, yes, it would be nice if the translation can be refined.

      Assalamu alaikum. 🙂

    • Welcome to my humble blog 🙂 and yes no doubt Qatil saab is a wonderful poet … one of my most favorites.

About the translation yes it can be improved. But I myself cannot translate any better so who am I to criticize 🙂

  3. It’s my pleasure to roam here and read some good poetry 🙂 Don’t mind my critic sense, it is sometimes out of my own control. Anyways the translation above gave me a good roaring laughter 😉 every thing has its own worth.
